Big thanks to Write Blend book shop in Crosby for welcoming Gill Torres and Ilan Sheady for a reading and signing of The Girl Who Could See Stories last Saturday 30th January. They were joined by the lovely Ellie Bedford, author of How to Eat a Rainbow: Magical Raw Vegan Recipes for Kids! who held a fantastic smoothie demo for an enormous crowd of children and their parents. The Girl Who Could See Stories and How to Eat a Rainbow are both now available to buy from Write Blend www.writeblend.co.uk. The lovely folks at Write Blend also have a weekly story time at 2pm Saturday. We highly recommend popping in if you are in the Liverpool or Sefton areas.

This fantastic event will have loads of tasty vegan treats on offer from 10am-6pm, as well as plenty of stalls stocking cruelty free goodies. It's proved so popular this year that the event will be split across 4 sites! We will be pitching our stall in the Methodist Church Central Hall, Oldham Street and reading The Girl Who Could See Stories twice throughout the day, at 12 and 2pm.

Entry is just £2 so please do join us, bring the kids and stop by the stall to say 'hi'.

Next on the agenda for us is the fantastic Manchester Vegan Fair, taking place in Chorlton - veggie/vegan capital of the Northwest - Saturday 16th May. We can't wait!

Gill will be reading The Girl Who Could See Stories on stage, so bring the kids to hear our vegan story book read aloud. We'll also have a stall all day so do come and visit. As always, anyone who buys the book from Gill in person, on the day, will get £1 off and a free activity poster.

Last year's event had over 70 stalls and attracted 1,600 guests... as well as the sunshine! This year promises to be bigger, better and just as sunny. Will we see you there?

Beatroot Appearance a Success

I had a fantastic time appearing on stage at the wonderful Beatroot Liverpool event. The regular night, which celebrates health, wellness and great live music, is always enjoyable. I've been in the audience many times to watch the likes of Jason Vale - the Juice Master and James Colquhoun of Food Matters share their stories, so I was honoured to be asked to follow in their footsteps!

Review of The Girl Who Could See Stories by Little Scribbles

Big thanks to Little Scribbles for this lovely review of The Girl Who Could See Stories.

'The book is a gentle tale about being mindful about what we eat, thinking about the stories behind the food on our plate. Whilst Gill is passionate about being Vegan, her writing eloquently portrays her views on food, rather than preaching that a vegan diet is best, which is how I have found some other vegan books for children.'

'I read this book with my 3 year old and we had a long conversation about different diets people have and where the food we eat comes from.'

Big thanks to Naomi of Bebopsbooks for this lovely review of The Girl Who Could See Stories.

'The story itself is very unique, we haven’t read anything like it.'

'Sofiel notices a sadness in her beefburger. It is very emotive but gently approaches the concepts of plant based diets and taking care of our planet, which is quite a tricky thing to achieve...We also liked that when Sofiel ate ‘happy’ foods, she began to feel happy herself.'
